DAY 31 OF 43

THE EXERCISE OF FAITH

To be taught by the Lord is a process, not a calamity. It is a blessing for all God’s children who experience it. For the Psalmist, this is a happiness, “Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law; you grant them relief from days of trouble …” When we are taught through struggles and discipline from the Word of God, we are being trained by God with the purpose to strengthen our faith. This educational process takes time, energy, sacrifice, perseverance and even tears. It will not last forever, though, as there will be time when we will enjoy victory during this training phase of faith.

Someone who is studying at school will be shaped by its many regulations and rules. This education process will create skilful and educated people who could use their education as provision in their future life journey. The Lord will also train us with His Word and life’s struggles. He trains our faith.

A trained faith is not produced in a smooth life; it is born in the process of training.

The Lord allows us to persevere and depend on Him. The training of faith will keep happening as long as we are still alive, but one thing that will happen, for sure, is the victory and His presence that will always be with us.
