THE KING’S FAVOR
Who was Esther before she had become a queen? Esther was a captive Jewish girl under the rule of King Xerxes. How can a lowly Jew become a queen, an esteemed and respected person? Nothing is impossible for God. If God opens the way then no one can shut it down and if God lifts it up then no one can lower it.
What was amazing about Esther was her attitude. Just like all of us who have become believers, we have indeed been chosen and ordained by God to be His instruments, but how do we respond?
Esther had been determined by God to become a solution for saving the Jews from the threat of a ruler named Haman. Before being appointed as a queen, Esther had to go through long stages of preparation. During this process Esther's attitude endeared her everyone. Esther did nothing except what Hegai (the supervisor of the King's harem) ordered. The king was attracted to Esther more than the other women, winning his favor and became the queen. We will get God's favor if we have an attitude of obedience to God's word.
There is one more important thing to learn from Esther. She did not forget her identity as a Jew. Remembering our own identity is vital, that we are His children and the ambassadors of His Kingdom.
We will get God's favor if we have an attitude of obedience to God's word.
