Learning To Trust God In Everything

DAY 6 OF 6

Building An Altar

For You

Noah saw God fulfill the promise. God rescued Noah and his family. In seeing how God delivered them, Noah saw a world forever changed, and he along with it. When we experience God’s answer to our prayer, even on a small scale, it changes how we see the world. It increases our trust and reliance on Him. One of the first things Noah did when he saw God’s promise fulfilled was build an altar. Noah wanted a visual reminder of what God did so he could remember God’s faithfulness.

For Your Child

Ask this Question: What does it look like to see God work?

When God answers a prayer, He often does so in ways we do not expect, but it is always what we need. When we see God answer a prayer or deliver on a promise, we need to create a memory of that time. It will help us to remember all that God has done for us and to trust Him even more in the future.

Activity: Create an “altar.” An artifact that reminds you and your child what God has done for you. It could be as simple as a list of answered prayers, a box of items that remind you of God’s answers, or it could be something you build together. Whatever you decide, create it with your child and put it in a special place in your home. Visit it regularly to remind you of God’s answered prayers and promises.
