Confessions Of An Unlikely Housewifeنموونە
Who let me bring home a baby?
No, really. Who let a 24-year-old only child who’d never so much as changed a diaper bring home an entire baby?
The question rang in my head like a blaring siren as my husband and I brought our oldest daughter home from the hospital years ago.
Who’s responsible for this? I thought.
Was the healthcare system to blame? Out of the 500 doctor appointments I had during my pregnancy, how come no one asked me if I had any idea what I was doing?
None of that mattered now. The only thing that mattered was the bone-chilling reality that I was solely responsible for this little one’s well-being for the rest of her natural life. It was up to me to know if she was too hot.
Too cold.
Too hungry.
Too tired.
This was too much!
Maybe you’ve had a time or two where life felt like too much. Maybe you don’t think you have the skill, wisdom, energy or know-how to meet the daily demands of your current season. If so, you’re not alone!
In Exodus 3, God tasked Moses with the enormous responsibility of delivering the people of Israel from Egypt. Naturally, Moses was uncertain if he had the necessary skills to fulfill God’s request.
Repeatedly, God diverted Moses’ attention away from his own abilities and pointed him back to Himself, reassuring Moses that God’s divine presence was all that he’d need for success.
I’ve come to realize the liberating truth that even when I don’t have a clue what I’m doing, God with me is enough. God uses my feelings of inadequacy to draw me to Himself so that He can accomplish through me much more than I could ever achieve on my own.
Whatever you face today, know that God’s presence with you is enough. Wherever you feel weak or ill-equipped is the exact place where God wants you to tap into His strength and power and trust Him in a deeper way.
While you weren’t looking, God has been handcrafting all of your life experiences to prepare you for the very season you’re in right now. Because of His presence, you are indeed up for the task, even if you don’t feel like it. Trust His leading, ask for His wisdom and leave the results to Him!
