The Primacy of God in Stewardshipنموونە
Give
Giving is an issue of honor. Many want to use God for emergencies rather than to honor Him for who He is and for what He has already done. Reading, learning, and applying the spiritual principles of tithing and giving will open the storehouses of God’s provision in your life. As Proverbs 3:9-10 shows us, there is a return on your investment when you give to God. “Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
Giving to God first reveals the level at which you honor Him in your heart. The tithe tangibly demonstrates that you believe God is your source. Saying that God is your source means nothing. Words alone mean nothing. God doesn’t believe you just because you say something. God believes you when He sees that your actions back your words. Tithing is an act of faith. Especially when it’s given first—before your bills are paid or your entertainment choices are made.
God is not asking for a donation when He asks His stewards to give to Him. We get it all mixed up when we think that way. God owns it already. God wants you to trust Him. He wants you to believe Him. He wants you to act in faith. So, He gives you an opportunity to do all of that through tithes and offerings.

About this Plan
One thing God cannot do is stop being God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. One more thing He cannot do is He can’t be second. God must be first. Yet, today we live in a world where people, particularly in western culture, acknowledge God but do not give Him the position He deserves. Tony Evans teaches us that as stewards, we need proper priorities. God is first.
