Love God Greatly: Draw Nearنموونە
The incarnation is truly a miracle. The original word for ‘took up residence’ comes from the word for “tabernacle”. The tabernacle was the tent that God instructed the Israelites to set up as they wandered the desert for forty years. It was the place that His presence dwelt and how He lived among the people.
And that is what Jesus did with us! He came and took up residence among us. He literally lived among His disciples. Through Him we see “the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being” (Hebrews 1:3). This is how it was in the beginning, in the garden. God dwelled among humanity in His creation. How my heart eagerly awaits the day He will live with us again. What a day that will be!
Jesus, thank You for leaving You home in heaven and dwelling on earth among us for a time. Through Your life and death You have shown us the character and heart of God. We eagerly await the day we will live in Your presence again! Come, Lord Jesus!
