Ernie Haase & Signature Sound - 11 Days & Ways To Have A Merry Christmasنموونە
Christmas In Manhattan - Part 2
Song of Songs 2:10 – My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.”
Ephesians 5:25 – Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
Imagine those two young lovers we met yesterday getting in a horse-drawn carriage. The young man takes her hand and lifts her up. They snuggle under the blanket. They laugh and hug all the way. Here is the lyric:
Central Park’s the perfect spot to wonder
Every streetlamp is a candy cane
Maybe there’s a carriage driver waiting
Baby, we could snuggle all the way
So, the question is this: were these two lovers any more married before they started this scene? Did anything happen here that made them more married? No, of course not. But what did happen is they knew each other in a shared, intimate moment.
Every lover instinctively knows that they should never stop seeking to know their lover. Once they do, the flame dies down. We all crave intimacy! We all want to believe that there is someone we can open ourselves to, and once we do, still be loved and adored. Not just legally but intimately. That, my friends, is the story of Christmas.
We have been given the Biblical narrative to show us just how much we are loved. We have songs and traditions to remind us of that heaven.
