Love God Greatly - Galatiansنموونە
Paul describes God’s covenant with Abraham, the father of faith. God’s covenant was unconditional. He required nothing of Abraham or Sarah in exchange for His promise or His favor. Abraham merely had to believe in the trustworthiness of God. In so believing, they were justified and blessed. Through them, all those who are of the faith, including Gentiles, are blessed as well.
Just as Abraham had to believe in God’s trustworthiness in order to receive blessing, we must believe and walk in faith as well. God’s promises remain true even when our circumstances don’t appear to be favorable, even when we don’t sense God’s presence or movement, even when we don’t believe we deserve His promises or His favor. God’s promises for our lives remain irrevocable, and His purpose for our lives will not be thwarted.
What attacks of your mind and heart threaten to keep you from believing in God’s promises written to You in His Word? In what circumstance are you doubting God’s promises towards you?
Father God, You are the ultimate promise keeper - absolutely trustworthy and faithful. Your way is perfect and Your Word is true. Lord, teach me to remain patient, to endure, and to remain confident in You as You have proven faithful in my life time and time again. Lord, help me to trust in You and not in my own understanding. Give me the strength to trust Your perfect timing for me. When I wrestle against You or attempt to manipulate Your plans for me, arrest my anxiety with Your peace, Your comfort, and Your presence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
