Christmas Promises Fulfilledنموونە
The promises of God always challenge impossibilities. What is impossible with man is possible with God! In our own human logic and reasoning and based on all of our knowledge of how things naturally work, God still works through what is seemingly impossible. Here, we read about the birth of the Saviour through a virgin. Now that’s impossible! “Don’t you know how babies are made, God?” “Ummm, excuse me God, but everyone knows You can’t be a virgin and have a baby!”
This situation reminds me of when Jairus’ daughter had died and Jesus turns up whilst the people were weeping and wailing. Jesus said, ‘she’s not dead, she’s asleep’. The people laughed at him. They knew what death was, they knew the difference between death and sleep. Again, God stepped into an impossible situation and over-ruled the logical situation and brought life. That’s what God does because that’s who God is – He is life!
I also think of Abraham and Sarah having their first child when they were old and way beyond childbearing age. No wonder they laughed at the promise – to the natural mind it seems ludicrous! When God speaks a word into our lives, it will often cut across our current experience, it can come to us when our whole world seems exactly the opposite! It can seem impossible but that’s when we see our God step in and be God. Whatever you are facing right now that seems impossible, let me encourage you to have faith in God, hold on to His promises to overrule your current situation and bring about His promise in your life!
Prayer
Dear Jesus,
I take my eyes off of my current situation and I place all of my focus on You. You have proven to be the One who overcomes all of life’s obstacles and even overrule death. I believe that nothing is impossible for You, so please come and move in my situation and release Your resurrection power into my life and fulfill Your promise to make me more than a conqueror.
I pray all this in Jesus' name.
Amen.
