The Great Surrender

DAY 4 OF 5

RELEASE

‘...I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their path.’ Jeremiah 10:23 (NIV)

Jeremiah was someone who acknowledged the sovereignty and wisdom of God, over his life. Therefore, he saw God work mightily in and through him.

So many of us get stuck in unnecessary cycles because we try to control our own lives, when it was never our job to do so. Perhaps you've tried to go in a direction that seemed good to you but later found out it wasn’t. Maybe you've attempted to make a relationship work, that you know God has told you to let go of.

You have to choose to trust God with your life. You may not know the full outcome or what will occur. However, there should be a security in this truth; that God is good and He will never lead you astray. When you rest in the reality of who He is and His heart towards you, a peace that surpasses all understanding floods your heart.

When Abraham surrendered to the Lord, He became the father of many nations. When Jonah surrendered to the Lord, God used him to bring a whole city to Himself and when Paul surrendered to the Lord, God used him to speak to nations and to write most of the New Testament! Imagine what He could do with you when you surrender.

What area of your life, do you need to give God full control?

What/who do you need to let go of today?

Prayer

Ask God to give you the courage to let go of anything, that is stopping Him from leading your life.
