 God Does Not Tempt Man

DAY 3 OF 3

Don’t Focus On The Wilderness.

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christ used the Word to conquer Satan. When you’re in the wilderness — choose to focus on God. His Word is your weapon. Matthew‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬ declares, “And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.” When Christ was led into the wilderness — He fasted.

Fasting breaks cycles. Fasting breaks yokes. Fasting breaks bondages. Christ, the Word in the flesh — put His flesh under subjection and fasted. When Jesus fasted, the Bible states that He was hungry. However, Christ did not let His physical hunger draw Him away from fulfilling His Assignment. Don’t let the wilderness distract you. Stay focused. Stay diligent. Stay submitted. Stay full.

Matthew‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬ declares, “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” The enemy tries to tempt you when you’re at your lowest. In proper context, in Matthew Chapter 4, when Jesus was in the wilderness, this wilderness moment was a direct parallel to the wilderness season of the Children of Israel who wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Their wilderness journey was prolonged because of their disobedience. Don’t prolong your season. Choose to obey God. Submit to Him and move forward.

Christ’s 40-day wilderness journey was intentional. Christ was led into the wilderness in order to set the captives free. Christ went through the wilderness in order to break the bondages of generations past. Christ conquered the wilderness — so can you. He is our example. You were created to conquer the wilderness. Don’t stay stuck. Forgive and surrender your heart to God. Choose to conquer the wilderness.

Look at Christ’s response when He was in the wilderness, Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬ declares, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Choose to feed on the Word of God. Live on the Word of God daily. Don’t let the wilderness distract you from fulfilling your God-given assignment. Don’t focus on the wilderness — choose to focus on Christ.

Let His Word lead you through every season. Let His Word feed you in the wilderness. Let His Word sustain you in every season of life. Choose to pattern your actions after Christ. Submit to God’s Way of doing things. Don’t let the wilderness overtake you. Choose to submit to His Word. Surrender to His Voice.

Remember that God does not entice you to sin — Satan is the one who lures you. Christ wants to set you free. There is no bondage in Christ. Surrender to Him. Follow God’s Way of doing things and His Light will lead you through the valley. Focus on Christ. Draw close to Him and He will set you free. “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭KJV‬‬
