Our Work in the Lord
1 Corinthians 15:24-26, 58
“Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death…Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. His death and resurrection defeated the power of sin and death. Those who enter his kingdom and work in that kingdom understand Christ’s authority and his victory. We too, face spiritual powers opposed to Christ and his kingdom. We too, labor to see others set free from the power of sin and spiritual bondage. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. The dimensions of this battle are global; our victory is in Christ.
Lord Jesus, you are the King! Thank you for life and freedom and the opportunity to serve you, for your glory.
