Join Me…by Praying
Romans 15:30
“I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.”
Prayer to God is an amazing gift to the body of Christ. Through prayer each part of the body communicates with the head who is Jesus. We can join others in their struggles through prayer. Our intercession to Jesus on their behalf can move the hand of God to extend grace, courage and direction to those we are praying for. It is the love of the Spirit which keeps us united as Christ’s body, even though we are separated by great distances. It is the love that the Spirit of God gives which motivates and reminds us to pray for others. The struggles of ministry are not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. The only way to prevail in that struggle is through prayer.
Jesus, thank you for teaching me to pray, for teaching me to be led by the Spirit in prayer and to intercede for others. Pray through me today, for your glory.
