Living in Unity
Psalm 133
“How good an pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down the beard,
Running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes.
It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.”
Luke 22:17
“After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, ‘Take this and divide it among you. . .’”
There is a reality of God’s presence and anointing in unity that we are called to. It’s good and much more pleasant than discord and fighting. When we drink of the one cup of Christ’s covenant love, we remember that He shed His blood for our reconciliation with the Father and with one another. Unity is possible because we all have access to the same Father through one Spirit, in one Body, because of Christ’s blood shed for us.
Living in unity is different than merely visiting there. To live in unity, we must live in the presence of the Father, filled with the Holy Spirit, under the oil of His blessing. Jesus is praying for us to experience and live in this unity today!
Lord Jesus, I choose again today to live in unity with your Body for your glory.
