Prayer and God’s Promises for the Nationsنموونە
God’s Glory among the Nations
God’s plans and promises for the peoples of the earth go well beyond simply making more Christians. God’s salvation among a people group that hasn’t previously known Him brings God “the glory due his name,” because people are now worshipping Him in a new culture and language.
As Israel’s king a millennium after Abraham, David understood the need for God’s glory to extend beyond the nation of Israel. Leading the celebration before the ark of the covenant of God, David called for God’s glory and deeds to be declared to peoples who have previously worshiped idols.
John Piper has said, “Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” We take the Good News to people who can then know Jesus and turn to the Father in worship. We seek children of the faith of Abraham everywhere. In this way God uses His people to fulfill His plan to “be exalted in the earth.”
Call out today, as King David did, “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples,” asking God for His glory to be known to peoples everywhere.

About this Plan
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few” (Matthew 9:37). Billions around the world have never heard God’s Good News. Yet from the beginning God promised to reach and bless all nations on earth. In the days to come you’ll follow Jesus’ lead and ask the Lord to send His workers—maybe even you—to people God loves all over the earth.
