Daily Bible Reading — Sustained By God’s Word Of Praiseنموونە
November 9
Introduction
This short psalm is in the form of a hymn that has come to be associated with Passover celebrations. It describes God’s delivering the Hebrew people from slavery in Egypt and guiding them into the Promised Land.
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 114:2
Judah became the Lord’s holy people, Israel became his own possession.
Today’s Reading
Psalm 114
Reflect
Today’s reading includes references to the exodus from Egypt and the crossing of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:26-29) and the crossing of the Jordan River into the land of Canaan (Joshua 3:14-17). In both instances the people walked across on dry ground. The concluding verse references God providing water for the people in the desert (Exodus 17:1-10). What does this psalm teach about the power of God? Are there instances of the power of God at work today?
