Joy And Glad Tidings By Nina Smit نموونە
Love with Christmas
On Christmas Eve, the Christmas story will be read around Christmas trees in many Christian homes. God so loved us, we will tell our children, that He sacrificed His only Son to take the punishment for our sin by dying on a cross in our place, so that everyone who believes in Him will one day live forever.
December, the Christmas month, always bears the sign of love. God so loved us that He sent His Son to save us. Jesus loves us so much that He left His place of honor in heaven to be born as an ordinary human baby in a humble stable, later paying the price for our sin on a cross.
Jesus is still the personification of light, peace and love. We should be encouraged to bring light into this world where there is darkness, to make peace where there is unrest and to pour out love where people are filled with hatred.
It looks like an impossible task, but it is the duty of every child of God to propagate light, peace and love, particularly in the Christmas season: the season in which the Word became human long ago. Christmas is also the season in which God’s children should live out His glory with special enthusiasm.
God also has another message of love for us at Christmas: He commands us to love one another. This Christmas, may you truly experience how it feels to offer your love as a gift to all people—particularly those who least deserve it. Live in love, and pass that love on to everyone you meet this Christmas season.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I fall so far short in my love for You and for others. Help me to lay my love at Your feet this Christmas season and to love others like You do. Amen.
