We're Not Perfect
This is an incredibly important passage, especially in the context of a relationship. If we assume that our spouse or fiancé could never wrong or offend us, we will be sent for a tailspin when they inevitably do. It's too much for us to put expectations and requirements that only God can hold up to on someone we have a relationship with. That will create pressure and stress that no healthy relationship will be able to withhold. Remembering that both parties in a relationship have flaws will help to create healthy and realistic expectations and will pave the way for appropriate methods for handling issues that will arrive. Only Christ is perfect.
Take a few minutes this morning and ask God to help you understand and process that neither you or your significant other are perfect!
