Tree of Life
Once again, the book of divine wisdom brings out the beauty of God’s plan. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life” (Prov. 13:12). Disappointment makes us vulnerable to spiritual diseases like discouragement, depression, introspection, and resentment. Thankfully, it’s not automatic. The outcome of disappointment is determined by how well we manage our hearts (see Prov. 4:23). And while the first half of this verse is the part most often quoted, it’s the second half that reveals God’s intention and design for us. It’s not a stretch to call this phrase, “God’s will for our lives.” It is in this passage we gain understanding of a mysterious part of the Garden of Eden called the Tree of Life.

How do we know that part of God’s plan for us is the enjoyment of fulfilled dreams and desires?

About this Plan
You’re invited to walk through Bill Johnson’s teaching on The Way of Life. We want to see God demonstrate His will in and through us so profoundly, and obviously, that it becomes the very thing that draws people into the Kingdom. Let us live, love, and lead like Jesus. This plan is taken from Bill Johnson's book, The Way of Life.
