[1 John Series] I Was There! نموونە
A real encounter with Jesus
John the apostle wrote a moving letter inspired by the Spirit of God. One of the first things he wanted his readers to connect with was the truth that Jesus is real. That he really lived, died, and rose again so that we can have a real encounter with Him.
John’s journey with Jesus was physical, but our journey is through faith. It would seem perhaps that John’s journey was easier, but Jesus said to John and the other disciples that those who have not seen and yet still believe are blessed and full of joy. Jesus told them that it was to their advantage that He would go away so He could send the Holy Spirit to dwell in their hearts. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you.
Going to church is great, but have you had a real encounter with Jesus? Do you really pray? Do you talk to Him about the ordinary things in life? “Jesus, I’m nervous. God, I love you. God, I’m hurting. God, my marriage seems difficult. Lord, I’m so tempted by peer pressure. Jesus, I need you so badly right now.”
Are you living a real life with Jesus? Do you really look into God’s Word? When we read it, sometimes we don’t understand everything. It’s a difficult book at times. But it is of ultimate importance to be in it if you want to have a real encounter with Jesus. Because Jesus Himself is the Word of God. It is sharper than any double-edged sword. It’s able to pierce your soul and your spirit. It is alive and active. It doesn’t return void. And it always accomplishes what it desires.
Are you having real fellowship with Jesus? Are you really trusting Him? When you get to heaven, nobody’s going to ask you what denomination, what pastor, what church. The real question is going to be, “Did you have a real encounter with Jesus?”
Maybe you did many years ago and it has gotten stale. Or maybe you have just been to church so much, or you are so busy, you’re not having real fellowship with Jesus anymore. Maybe you need to have an encounter with Him once again.
If you haven’t trusted Christ as your Savior, or if you want to renew your walk with Him, say, “Lord, I want You to forgive my sins. I want a real encounter with You.”
