Worship Him
Praise the Lord! . . . Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness. –Psalm 150:1–2
Worship is not just an exhilarating exercise we engage in on Sundays; it is a concentrated focus on Yahweh God Himself. In Psalm 150:1–2, David’s praise of the Lord reaches its crescendo, and in so doing reveals that worship should be our lifestyle—we should exalt Him wherever we are.
God’s mighty acts should always invoke profound gratitude in our innermost beings. The Lord created the heavens and the earth; made man in His image; sent His Son, Jesus, as our sin- bearer; and raised Christ from the dead. He saved us from eternal death, gave us His nature through His indwelling Spirit, speaks to us through His Word, and guides us unerringly through the difficulties of life.
But not only do we praise God for His mighty deeds; still more, our adulation should focus on the excellency of His being. He is just, holy, faithful, merciful, long-suffering, truthful, trustworthy, gracious, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, sovereign, eternal, and transcendent. Indeed, there is no one greater than Him. And He is so kind and compassionate that He loves us. Wow, what a God! Certainly, He is worthy of all our adoration.
Jesus, I worship You with all that I am! Praise You, Lord! Amen.
My hope is in Jesus because of His mighty deeds and His excellent greatness.
