God Never Turns His Back on Me!نموونە
God Keeps His Promises
The Lord never makes a promise that He doesn't keep! He's always faithful. His faithfulness includes keeping his promise to give you hope and peace as you go through life as well as eternal life. His promise is made to all who believe in Him. This incredible promise is found in the following true story:
Once upon a cross, a long time ago, there was a thief being put to death for stealing. We don’t know his name, but we know his punishment was a slow, painful death by crucifixion. We also know he wasn’t alone. Next to the thief hung another criminal, and together they would die side by side with Jesus.
We don’t know all that Jesus and the thief said to each other during that torturous day, but this we know for sure: In Luke, chapter 23 verses 40-42, the thief humbly confessed to the other criminal, “We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man [Jesus] has done nothing wrong.”
The thief who hung on the cross believed Jesus’ promise to forgive all his sins, even though he didn’t earn or deserve it! He also believed that Jesus was God as Jesus had claimed. And he fully believed the promise Jesus made about taking him to heaven! The Bible says the thief was overheard saying,“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus replied with a promise, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise.”
The moral of the story is this: Just as Jesus faithfully promised to forgive the repentant thief and take him to heaven for eternity, God makes that same promise to you! He promises to never leave you. He promises to give you hope for today and forever. JESUS DIDN’T TURN HIS BACK ON THE THIEF AND HE WON’T TURN HIS BACK ON YOU!
On this third day of GOD NEVER TURNS HIS BACK ON ME take time to put your faith in God through prayer.
Prayer Time:
1) Close your eyes so you're not distracted. Tell God you believe that Jesus is God in human form. Tell Him that you believe that Jesus took the punishment for your sin when he died on the cross and rose from the dead, three days later.
2) Ask God to guide you and give you strength to live for Him instead of living your own way, doing what you want to do, instead of pleasing Him.
3) Thank God for always keeping his promises.
Now, it’s time to take action.
Just Do It:
1) What will you do to learn how the Lord wants you to live?
2) Who will you contact and ask to help you be more faithful to God?
3) Think about how God has demonstrated His faithfulness to you already.
In Deuteronomy 7:9 we are encouraged with these words: “He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations.”
