Face To Face With Jesus: A 7-Day Devotionalنموونە
“The resurrection of Christ is the Amen of all his promises.”
—John Boys
Christ’s resurrection body is the prototype for our heavenly bodies (1 Corinthians 15:48-49). Whatever was true of his resurrection body will presumably be true of us.
Jesus wasn’t always immediately recognized (John 20:15), suggesting there was change in his appearance. But after some time, his disciples recognized him (Luke 24:31). This may suggest despite any outward changes, the inner identity of people shines through.
Through locked doors Christ suddenly appeared to the disciples (John 20:19). Christ could be touched and consume food, yet his body could “materialize” too. How? Could a resurrection body be structured to allow its molecules to pass through solid materials or suddenly become visible or invisible?
Though we know Christ could do these things, we’re not explicitly told we’ll be able to. Perhaps his divine nature makes this unique.
