Easter: Beyond The Bunnyنموونە
Where’s the Bunny?
The Easter holiday is a wonderful tradition that families and friends have celebrated for centuries. Many cultures celebrate the season with Easter egg hunts, complete with baskets, candy. For those who find the most eggs hidden in trees and bushes in their backyard or a park, sometimes a prize awaits the winner. It's amazing how many bright colored eggs the Easter Bunny can lay!
Often, people purchase beautiful clothes to wear to church on Easter Sunday, followed by a family dinner. These experiences bring fun and delight to the hearts of children. The Easter holiday creates wonderful family memories. However, when Jesus died and rose on the third day, He didn't make that miraculous sacrifice for us to simply seek and find hidden eggs. Rather, in Luke chapter 19:10, The Bible says that Jesus came to earth to seek and to save that which is lost. The "lost" is mankind. Jesus came to earth and lived a sinless life while serving and loving people. Then He freely gave His life, and rose again three days later. If you put your faith in what Jesus did for you, He will save you from a hopeless life on earth, and spending eternity in hell separated from Him. This Easter, go beyond the bunny. Desire to know Jesus more deeply. Reflect on the suffering He experienced out of love for you. Worship Him with a heart of thankfulness. Surrender the pursuit of things that don't matter. Pursue serving God and others. Seeking Jesus leads to an abundant life filled with joy, purpose, peace and hope.
