Love God Greatly - 1 & 2 Peterنموونە
Peter reminds Jewish Christians that they have a new life in Jesus Christ. They are born again into a life created by God and for God. Believers have a new nature and because of this new nature, they are enabled to love other believers passionately. Peter quotes Isaiah 40:6-8 which stresses how short and fragile this earthly life is. The prophet Isaiah compares the human life to the eternal Word of God. By the Word of God, believers are born again with the power to obey the truth of the Word and reflect Christ’s sacrificial love.
What past corruptible behaviors, attitudes, or relationships are you carrying from your old life before Christ into your new life in communion with God? Will you allow those things to die “as the grass withers” so that you can experience the new life that God offers?
