Vision Comes From Withinنموونە
Hope
Imagine opening your eyes and seeing nothing but darkness. Most people will never have to face the reality of physical blindness; however, we must all come to the realization that we are spiritually blind. We are all walking around blinded to our own sin, and our need for a savior. You may be one of those people who are spiritually blind. You have experienced a trial in your life, and you want to know if the Bible has any hope for you. And the answer is yes. No matter what you are facing in life: cancer, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, etc., there is hope for you in the gospel. If you are looking at your circumstances and wondering, “does God love me,” look to the cross and see there the perfect display of God’s love.
Christ said in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” At the cross we see the love of God clearly demonstrated, and in that love we can find hope. If you confront your spiritual blindness by repenting of your sin, and placing faith in Christ, then you have the hope of eternal life. You have the hope of knowing that no matter what happens on this Earth, you will live forever in a new Heaven and a new Earth. A place where cancer, death, disability, and pain does not exist.
The apostle John paints this picture for us when he writes, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away (REV 21:1-4).’” The hope of this place can only come to you through Christ. Do you have that hope? Have you placed faith in Christ? If not, please do so today.
