How To Thrive In Life's Toughest Seasons By Pastor Debra Mortonنموونە
In order to protect yourself while you are in the rebuilding season you are going to have to be and remain strong. If you lack strength physically or mentally, I suggest you read the book of Joshua. . . .
Strength is required to defeat the enemy who attempts to attack and distract us while we are focused on getting our lives back on track. The Word teaches us that when we are weak, we can rely on God’s strength. One way that He strengthens us is through the Holy Spirit.
We need the Holy Spirit for a spirit-filled life. We cannot live according to God’s will without the Holy Spirit. When we need assurance, the Holy Spirit is right beside us, bearing us up. When we need encouragement, the Holy Spirit is there to uplift us. When we need reminders of God’s goodness, the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts.
Romans 8:26 says, “So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance” (ampc).
The Holy Spirit makes us alive and keeps us alive. If we don’t get our fill of the Holy Spirit regularly, we will live beneath the blessings God has for His children. The Holy Spirit is a tremendous gift for us. When we are in the Spirit, we can do anything God asks us to do. When filled with the Holy Ghost, we are joyful in every circumstance; the joy of the Lord becomes our strength.
