What is Love? God's View On Love And Relationshipsنموونە
SAY WHAT?
Mary, the mother of Jesus, was engaged to Joseph, but before they could get married the Holy Spirit made Mary pregnant. Joseph loved her so much that he decided to separate himself from her privately.
BREAKDOWN: Joseph and Mary were a young couple engaged (not dating, not shacking up, not friends with benefits) to be married. They had much love for each other, so much so that they were willing to be pledged to one another before doing or involving themselves in “ANY” other actions. They were committed to each other in the spiritual way before they engaged in any physical activity.
If someone says that they love you but aren’t willing to wait, like Joseph and Mary, then it might not be real love, it might just be lust. It is important that we allow ourselves to be focused on God and His will for our lives and relationships more than anything else. God’s love is committed to the cause of Christ more than it is focused on self-pleasure. God’s love is faithful.
LIVE IT OUT: Today look at the person you are in a “relationship” with and ask yourself if this person is focused on God or on you. If their focus is in the wrong place, then make the shift today to put the focus back where it should.
PRAYER: Lord, today help me to see if my relationship is focused in the right place or if I need to change the focus and allow it to be back on You. Jesus, guide my actions and my thought’s. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Greek Word: Faithful = Pistos “pis-tos’”

About this Plan
Society has it’s own definition of what it means to love and what true love is. However, that definition and God’s definition are very different. This 7-day devotional is designed to take you on a journey through God’s love in both the Old and New Testaments. Each day, a definition of God’s love will be explained through scripture and then defined in everyday language. Let's get started! Go to afterthemusicstops.org for the full length version of this plan.
