Bloom: Fresh Devotionals For Girlsنموونە
It's Not Fair!
Raise your hand if you’ve ever been disappointed before. You don’t get to buy ice cream after your softball game. You didn’t get the toy you wanted for your birthday. Your brother or sister doesn’t want to play with you.
Disappointments happen all the time. They are just a part of life. So what do we do? We could end up feeling disappointed a lot of the time, but I don’t think that’s what God wants for His kids.
We are not alone in our disappointments and frustrations. There are many stories in the Bible where God’s kids were also disappointed. Some of them had a bad attitude about it. But some of them looked for the lesson that God was teaching them. And they grew stronger because of it.
That’s our example to follow. Our God is loving and wise and because of that, we can trust him no matter what. One of God’s prophets was a man named Isaiah. God spoke through Isaiah and said that His plans and thoughts are so much higher than our own best thoughts and ideas. Think how high the sun or the moon looks in the sky when you are playing in your backyard. That’s how much bigger and better God’s thoughts and plans are than ours.
His word also says that our minds can’t even conceive of the great plans He has for us! Wow!
Even though I have to remind myself of this truth constantly, I am thankful that God’s ways and thoughts are higher than mine. I am thankful that He knows how to perfectly guide my life, because I sure don’t know the best ways. Each day is a new opportunity to trust Him with my plans, dreams, and hopes.
