Wow, God! (An Advent Journey)نموونە
WOW, GOD. I AM THAT IMPORTANT TO YOU.
Experience
It’s all about me. No, I know. Just hear me out on this. With Jesus, He treats me like I am the only one, like I’m the only person He cares about. Sometimes I get caught up thinking God doesn’t REALLY know everything about me. That He won’t really see if I just do this little thing. But it’s not like that. God sees all of us. He sees all of me.
When I was a kid, I was told that even if I was the only person on the planet, God would still have sent Jesus to save me. I really didn’t understand how that would work, but I get the point now. It’s all about how personal God’s love is. God loves me enough to send Jesus even if I was the only person on earth who needed forgiveness. I’m worth it. I’m enough for God just like I am. He made me, and God doesn’t make something useless, something that’s junk. God made me as His unique accomplishment.
Wow, God. I am THAT important to you.
Respond
“This is how God showed His love for us: God sent his only son into the world so we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10) God sent Jesus for every person. God also sent Jesus just for you. You. Jesus came for you, individually. Think about how your life would be different if you really were the only person for whom Jesus came to earth. You are important enough to God that He did send Jesus just for you. Do you see yourself as one who is this valuable? Take a moment now to realize and appreciate yourself as God’s creation. Does this change how you view God? Does it change your relationship with Him?
Pray
Dear God, thank You for caring for me as the unique individual that I am. Amen.
