The Christmas Story Through African Eyes

DAY 4 OF 25

God Will Speak Again

From an Africa Study Bible application note:

After the end of the Old Testament, God’s people are about to enter four hundred years of silence. These are years when there will be no prophets to speak for God, no kings to lead for God, and no words of the Bible are written down. But we are assured that this silence will not last forever. The Lord will send another prophet in the spirit of the mighty Elijah to speak God’s message with authority and power. All the people will not perish in the terrible day of the Lord because they will have a word from God from his anointed prophets before this day comes. More than this, this prophet will change hearts and heal families, God’s worship will be real and authentic (Malachi 4:6). With the close of the book of Malachi, we can almost feel the great anticipation of God’s people. When will the great prophet of God come?

Today:

During the advent season, we remember the anticipation of the Messiah’s birth. As Christians, we yearn for Jesus to come again. Today, imagine the justice, peace, and righteousness of Jesus’s reign when he establishes his Kingdom that will never end. Pray for Jesus to prepare you for his return.
