30/30 Challenge Reading Plan

DAY 3 OF 30

This scripture is familiar to many—Christians and non-Christians alike. The danger is that because it’s something you’ve heard before, you can easily miss something God wants to say to you through it.

In this one verse alone, we get a glimpse of God’s amazing, unconditional love for all mankind—He gave His “one and only Son” for us. We see that He wants to have a personal relationship with every single person on the planet—we all fall into the “whoever believes” category. And He wants to be with us forever—He’s offering “eternal life.”

By looking more closely at John 3:16 (studying it), we’ve gained insight into God’s heart for us and what He wants to do for us.

It’s “The Great Exchange”:

  • I give Jesus my sin, and He gives me His righteousness.
  • I give Him my broken, wounded life, and He gives me His beauty.
  • I give Him my hopelessness and He gives me His hope.
  • I give Him my sadness and He gives me His joy.
  • I give Him my turmoil and my old ways of doing things, and He gives me a new nature—His nature—and His peace.

The awesome thing is, this is just the beginning of having new life in Christ. So keep going because it just gets better and better!

Walk It Out

If you haven’t given your all to God, do it today. Tell Him, “God, thank You for giving me Your Word and showing me how much You love me. I love You, and I trust You. I want to have new life in Christ and everything You have for me. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me Your “Great Exchange.” Now study other scriptures, like 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, that will help you get a deeper understanding of what it means to belong to God and be loved by Him.

About this Plan

30/30 Challenge Reading Plan

Are you studying the Bible or just casually reading it? God doesn’t want us to just skim His Word—He wants us to meditate on it and to allow it to change us from the inside out. That’s why Joyce Meyer issued the challenge to study God’s Word for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. This 30-day reading plan consists of encouragement from Joyce that will help you develop the habit of daily scripture reading. We’re confident this study will help you engage with the Bible and discover the impact it can make on your life. Give God 30 days and see what happens!
