Till The Whole Earth Looks Like Heavenنموونە
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” - 2 Timothy 1:7
His name was Abraham and Jesus himself appeared to him late one night in his refugee camp outside Mosul, Iraq. He quickly became one of the most notorious evangelists in the Muslim world boldly sharing his testimony of salvation across Iraq and Syria. Thousands were saved and churches were being planted everywhere he went. When news of this reached the top ranks of ISIS, a bounty was placed on his head.
Upon refusing the pleas of many to go into hiding and silence his voice, a hitman arrived at his home with a knife in hand ready to kill him. Abraham yelled out at the man, “Why have you come and what do you need?” Immediately the assassin began to shake and fell down with the knife falling out of his hand. He cried out from the ground: “I want to know the way of salvation!” Abraham led him in the prayer of salvation.
He came as an assassin and left as an evangelist! This true testimony WILDLY reveals the power of resisting fear while grabbing onto power and the soundness of God walking with us! Right now God is moving like never before across the Middle East and the gospel is going forth in power and authority.
To walk in the Spirit is to put on heaven’s perspective as we encounter people and situations. In every moment, we are given a choice to either react from our own perception or respond with the direction of the Holy Spirit. Abraham could have reacted in fear by running or fighting when he saw the assassin approaching. Because he chose to stand his ground and not give into fear, Abraham partnered with the Holy Spirit, who opened up an opportunity for the man to receive salvation.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I submit to your heart and agenda today. I welcome you to guide me and walk me through every moment. Father, give me your eyes to see everyone I encounter as you see them. Teach me to respond with your heart, and to remain sensitive to what You’re doing. Thank you Holy Spirit that I can hear your voice, and for your constant guidance. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
