The Ascent

DAY 9 OF 15

WHO’S IN CHARGE?

Partnering with God is exactly that; a partnership. We each have a part to play, but our part is minimal compared to what God does. He can do far greater things with the little that we bring to Him than we ever could. God can do the crazy things we never thought would be possible, when we actually say yes to Him. Even though we may think ‘God, this is all I have…’, when we give it to Him, He can take it and bless it.

Partnering with God is about following Him and letting Him be in charge. Our part is to be obedient; the results are up to Him.

Our priority is to be where God calls us to be. Even if other things may look attractive - if it’s not where God has called us, it’s always going to be second to where He has actually called us to be.

About this Plan

The Ascent

The Ascent… is an invitation to climb. It’s an invitation to proximity. It’s an invitation to intimacy. In the Old Testament there are 15 psalms of ascent. They are songs that Israel sang on their way to celebrate God at festivals. They express amazing grace and they quiet anxious fears. They are songs that provide courage and support as we travel the road of faith and discover who we are and what God’s called us to. It has been said that the Psalms of Ascent are like placing your feet in the footprints of others and reminding ourselves to be moved again; to keep walking forward in the direction of God. This devotional is an invitation to lift our eyes and to ascend the heights; to becoming Jesus’ climbing companions.
