Death seems like the last word – game over. But what if the power of death could be broken? What if what Jesus said earlier to his friend Martha, who was grieving the death of her brother, Lazarus, was true: “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this?” (11:25-26)? These words would ring hollow if Jesus himself remained powerless over the grave. We just read of his tragic death and hasty burial. Is that it? Game over? Read on!
