Be Your Own God!

Was Eve’s sin really just eating the wrong piece of fruit? No, it was far worse. Eve was trying to be her own God. She was making an idol out of the tree of knowledge and worshipping it as her provider.

Eve’s sin is seen for how dire it truly was when we compare it to the Ten Commandments. Before they were written, Eve pre-broke the first, second, and tenth commandment. When we show how she broke these commandments, we get a glimpse at how horrendous her sin really was.

We will also see how our sins do the same thing. We try to turn our good deeds and our wicked deeds into idols and saviors for us. Only the Gospel of Jesus can help us tear down these idols and turn from our sin.
