In Pursuit Of Excellenceنموونە
Success vs Fulfillment
We live in a world which constantly strives for ‘success’. Interestingly, this word means different things for different people. For some, it is financial success, for others, it is power and position, for someone else it is fame. What are you striving for in your workplace today? How does God measure success in our lives?
In the Parable of the Talents from Mt 25:14-28, we clearly see how God measures success in our lives. He is not looking for successful people but faithful people. We also see that God gives different measures of talents to each one of us and not equally. He expects us to be faithful in what he has given us and does not expect the same results from everyone. Key learning for me from today’s verse is He will give us more responsibility and success only when He sees us being faithful in the few things he has entrusted us with! Are we yearning to do bigger things without being faithful to the few things He has given us today?
Once we understand success in God’s eyes is to fulfill His will in our lives, we will strive for fulfillment instead of success and our pursuit towards excellence will be completely aligned to His will in our lives. Are you in the sweet spot of God’s will in your workplace? There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing and loving God and His will in each one of our lives.
From my own personal journey in the corporate world, where God has blessed me abundantly even before I knew Him and His will personally, I have found the key to fulfillment is ‘surrender’ and not success.
Are you willing to surrender your will to His today?
Lord, thank You for speaking to me today. Help me to trust in You with all my heart and not to lean on my own understanding. In all my ways and accomplishments, help me to acknowledge Your grace and love and help me to walk in Your path of fulfillment. Amen

About this Plan
Drawing from the Biblical premise of Paul addressing the Colossian church, which primarily consisted of slaves, the author speaks about the various issues related to pursuing excellence and ushers in a clarified understanding of the fact that faith is not merely for Sundays, but for every day, every place. He ends with a climaxing, soul-searching question - Are you willing to surrender your will to His today ?
