Daily New Testament - Quarter 3نموونە
Paul now challenges the Corinthians to give generously to a fund that will help to meet the needs of Christians who are suffering. Other churches had given generously and were begging Paul to let them give even more. He wants the Corinthians to have the same attitude. Jesus had been generous to them in giving his life; they needed to be willing to give something of far less value.
If you have ever dreaded a plea for money from your church or other Christian ministry, this is a good chapter to think about. What have you received from God? Not just money, but forgiveness from wrongdoing, a new life, the Holy Spirit, etc. How grateful are you? Giving is a privilege that allows us to do God’s work! Are you wishing for the opportunity to do more, as God provides, or giving with resentment?
