5 Things You Can Count on From Godنموونە
#4 - He Will Take Care of You
I think that many Christians aren’t that sure of God. When they sit in church, or when everything is going OK in their lives, they say, “God will take care of everything.”
But when trouble comes fear and doubt can creep in. They can begin to wonder, “Will God really take care of me?”
Of course, the answer is a resounding yes! God will take care of you—every time. Settling this truth in your heart will make all the difference in how bad situations turn out in your life.
There is a wonderful story in the book of Daniel that shows God’s care for His people when they are in perilous situations.
Israel had just been carried off into captivity by the Babylonians. Daniel and several other young Israelites were chosen to be trained as leaders in King Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian government.
As part of this elite group, they lived in the king’s palace and were served delicious food that wasn’t “kosher”—in other words, food that God had forbidden the Israelites to eat.
The Bible says, “Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods” (Dan. 1:8, NLT).
That took a lot of guts. They were really just glorified prisoners in the king’s palace, which means they were expected to follow orders.
Daniel said to the chief of staff: “Please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water…At the end of the ten days, see how we look compared to the other young men who are eating the king’s food. Then make your decision in light of what you see” (Dan. 1:12-13, TLB).
Well, at the end of the ten days, these guys looked better than those who ate the king’s food. God supernaturally sustained them because they chose to believe Him. And as a result of their obedience under pressure, God rewarded them with knowledge and wisdom above everyone in the kingdom (Dan. 1:15-20).
They knew that God would take care of them. You can also count on Him, and trust Him to take care of you. He can perform miracles for you and promote you, just as He did for Daniel and his three friends.
