Overcoming Timidity

DAY 7 OF 7

Timidity in Leadership

A few times a month, I lead a LifeGroup at my house with the intention of building up strong Christian leaders here in Kansas City. I love hearing the visions, dreams, and goals of the people that I get to share and speak life with. One of the hardest things to hear, however, is that sometimes as leaders we limit our goals because of fear and doubt. When we look at some recent inventions that have changed the world like computers, cell phones, satellites, and even self-driving cars, we begin to realize that fear didn’t hold those leaders back.

As Christians, we serve a God of miracles. We should be on the front lines as world changers because we know that God will never fail us. Instead, we sometimes choose to live an average timid life because we start to believe the lies of this world. We begin to compare ourselves and think that we will never measure up. Don’t miss out on the miracle because you’re distracted by the mundane. You don’t have to create an invention to change the world. Jesus calls us to preach the gospel to all nations. He calls us to LEAD people back to him. If you want to see someone’s world become completely changed, boldly share the love of Jesus with them, diligently pray for them, and patiently watch as our creator fills their world with passion, purpose, and unconditional love.

Focus: Refuse to be a timid leader today! You don’t need a title to complete a task. Jesus calls all of us to be strong leaders and to be bold with our faith. You will come into contact daily with those who are lost in the wilderness and desperately seek a leader to direct them back to their Father. Will you choose to be an average timid leader or will you make a decision to be the type of leader that changes the world?

About this Plan

Overcoming Timidity

Has anyone ever called you timid? Timidity is defined as having a lack of courage or confidence. The Lord has recently given me a realization that I was being overcome by timidity and was completely unaware of it. Jesus wasn’t timid with his purpose when he took our sin and shame to the cross. Therefore I refuse to be timid in my faith for a God that courageously chases after me. This devotional will help you reflect on seven different areas of your faith where timidity may be trying to set in. I pray the Lord will give you an awareness of timidity in your life and will guide you as you overcome it.
