Counting The Cost

DAY 10 OF 21

EVANGELISM:

Isn’t sharing fun?! When you pause and think about some of the things you see on social media, it’s actually pretty funny. You can secretly raise your hand if this is you, but have you ever posted a picture of something you ate? What compelled you to post a picture of your food? It was probably so amazing that the entire world had to know, and you were just the person to tell us. Jesus commissions His followers to share the best news that anyone could ever know.

As you ‘go’ about living your life each day, you have been given a job. That’s right. Did you know that as a Christian you have a full-time job? Your task is to make disciples. That means you get to lovingly share with others what Christ has done for you and for them through the cross and the empty tomb. What He did for you! It means that God has called YOU to be His spokesperson and share His message of hope, forgiveness, and love. While this may excite you or maybe cause you to be fearful, know this: Jesus says that He is with you. Even when you don’t know how, when, or the right words to say, He is with you.

Concentrate on sharing and watch God do the saving! God has strategically placed you exactly where He wants you to share the Gospel. You may not have the spiritual gift of evangelism but, because you are a disciple of Christ, you are called to evangelize. Go for it and be amazed at how God will work in and through you!

Action Point:

Write out your testimony and make a list people that you need to pray for and intentionally share with. Be on the lookout and ready for the Holy Spirit to use you.

Question(s):

Is making disciples a suggestion or a calling?

What’s holding you back from sharing?

When was the last time you shared the Gospel?

Who can you share with today/tomorrow?

How are you teaching others what the Bible says?

If you were to invest into 2-3 people’s lives and help them to do the same with 2-3 other people, how would this inspire you?
