Vision
I have always grown up with a pastor (Pastor Phil Pringle) who created an environment full of vision. Whether it was in my soccer, surfing or involvement in the youth team; I have always had a sense of vision for the future.
The ability to SEE is what enables us to move with direction. The ability to SEE is what helps us to interpret what is in front of us. If you cannot see where you are going you cannot effectively navigate the way to your destination.
VISION is not something we need to MAKE UP or FAKE. As we seek God He will reveal His plan and purpose for the future.
God knows the plans, so spend time pursuing the planner not the plans. For me, this happens in a place of prayer, where I am intentionally seeking Jesus and waiting on Him.
I have found that VISION is always under pressure. There is always something other than the vision trying to steal my attention, trying to fill my imagination. If our imagination is filled with all types of different pictures and forecasts of the future, our God given VISION will begin to fade into the background.
Vision can also be frustrating as it is a picture of what could be; often highlighting what currently is not. The ability to see what could be whilst living in what is, makes the task of holding onto what you see for the future a fight. This fight requires discipline, commitment, courage and most of all FIXING OUR EYES on JESUS, the author and perfector of our faith!
Prayer: Thank you Lord that you have a vision for my life! Thank you for opening my heart and mind to see what you see for the future. I thank you that as I pursue you I will begin to see the future with eyes of faith.
