Where Will Your Group End Up?
Jesus cast a clear vision and purpose for our lives. He said the two greatest commandments are to love God with everything and love your neighbors the way you love yourself. The first part is full of big vision; the second defines close-to-home, purposeful action.
Like Jesus’ two commandments, you’ll find your vision by dreaming big together about where you want to end up, but your purpose will come in the small things you agree to do in order to get there.
Whether or not you define it, your group will end up somewhere. Talking about it is how you’ll end up where you want to be.
Some of this is will be simple things friends talk about. Friends talk openly about logistics like food, times, and locations. Also, what will you do together? Do you have young kids? That’s something to talk about, too. Will you take time off during busy seasons? Plan ahead.
Other things will take more time and intention. For instance, following Jesus’ two commandments. You’ll want to answer questions like, “How will our community look different because of our group?” Maybe your next Bible Plan together should be How To Neighbor. Also, answer questions about how your group’s finances, marriages, families, and relationships can change and grow.
Pastor Craig Groeschel often says, “All people end up somewhere in life, but few end up there on purpose.” Where will your group end up?
As you watch today’s video and read today’s Scriptures, write down your ideas of your group’s vision and purpose.
About this Plan
We wondered how friendships work. So, we invited seven very different people to talk, eat, pray, and even cry together. We saw something. People became friends. Whether your LifeGroup is new or growing strong, join with Life.Church to discover what it truly means to belong.
