Place
Have you heard the phrase "there's no place like home" before? What sentiments come to mind? For me, I experience feelings of security and belonging, knowing there's a place where I fit and where I matter. Imagery that typically comes to my mind is a long table surrounded by seats. On this table, place cards indicate who each seat is reserved for. Seats at the table affirm significance.
Individuals essential to problem solving and mission accomplishment have seats at the table. They don't have to re-enact scenes from reality shows to secure their seats -- until these individuals fill their seats, their seats remain empty and ready to receive them. Similarly, society is like a seemingly endless table with seats -- seats to be filled by problem solvers.
Your basic mindset shapes how you view your ability to sit the table. Scarcity-minded individuals believe and act like there aren't enough seats at the table. Abundance-minded individuals believe and act like there is an overflow of seats. Who is right? One mindset causes one to have grasping and wringing of hands, whereas the other mindset enables one to have open hands. Biblical wisdom (Proverbs 23:7, King James Version) asserts that as a man thinks, so is he. Thus, what you believe is what you will experience and become.
I gently remind you The Most High God has deliberately equipped you with talents designed to bless you and empower you to be a blessing to others. In fact, God placed within you a unique demonstration of His ability and glory.
A lamp is not to be hidden. It's to be put on a stand to shine. Honor God's gifting of talents within you. You are His masterpiece created for good works. You are special. You are an answer to somebody's problem. You are needed!
