Jesus' Lineage - Preparing For Christmas Series #1نموونە
Messiah would be Born in Bethlehem
Thoughts on the Passage
A small town. Small towns normally get overlooked by people as they look for important locations in the world. The big cities have the museums, the big malls, the fancy restaurants, and the nice attractions. The small towns? They have the simple stores, the simple homes and the common people. This is where the Father wanted Jesus to be born. It could have been a palace – instead it was a manger where the animals were fed or watered. It could have been a great city – a city destined for kings, but instead it was a small simple town.
God loves to honor people who love Him, but they are often at the bottom. The simple, common people who would never receive honor from this world. He loves the humble, the poor, the outcast, the disenfranchised, the overlooked and the under appreciated. This is where He chose to place His Son on this earth. Is there anyone in this situation that we are overlooking today? Let’s take a second look – we will find someone/something special.
Time to Pray
Father, it is so easy to consider humble beginnings as something to forget. Instead, You love to honor them. Today, I remember the humble beginnings I and others have had, choosing not to let it define who I am/we are and what Your destiny is for us. You have a special plan for these people to be planet shakers – world changers. Give me that perspective for each of these people and for every other person You created in this world. You do not define us by the things this world chooses to define us by – thank you so much!
Also, thank you for bringing Jesus into this world this way. It is a great lesson for us as we prepare for this season. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

About this Plan
God prepared the world for Jesus the Messiah right from the very beginning. He made sure His world knew ahead of time that the Messiah was coming. This is the first of three devotionals that give the prophetic pronouncements of the Messiah – and how they were fulfilled. This devotional shows the prophecies of the lineage of Jesus starting from the garden of Eden right to Mary.
