A Song of Praise to the Sovereign Lord
1The Lord #(Ps. 96:10)reigns;
Let the earth rejoice;
Let the multitude of isles be glad!
2#Ex. 19:9; Deut. 4:11; 1 Kin. 8:12; Ps. 18:11Clouds and darkness surround Him;
#(Ps. 89:14)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3#Ps. 18:8; Dan. 7:10; Hab. 3:5A fire goes before Him,
And burns up His enemies round about.
4#Ex. 19:18His lightnings light the world;
The earth sees and trembles.
5#Ps. 46:6; Amos 9:5; Mic. 1:4; Nah. 1:5The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6#Ps. 19:1The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory.
7#(Ex. 20:4)Let all be put to shame who serve carved images,
Who boast of idols.
#(Heb. 1:6)Worship Him, all you gods.
8Zion hears and is glad,
And the daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
9For You, Lord, are #Ps. 83:18most high above all the earth;

10You who love the Lord, #(Ps. 34:14; Prov. 8:13; Amos 5:15; Rom. 12:9)hate evil!

#Ps. 37:40; Jer. 15:21; Dan. 3:28He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

And gladness for the upright in heart.
12#Ps. 33:1Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous,
#Ps. 30:4And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
