Recovery Day 13
This is the only story in the Gospels where Jesus did a miracle in stages. Before this, every miracle we saw Jesus perform was instant. And the lesson for us is that God is interested in our full recovery. It is not enough to have partial sight, God wants you to see completely. It is not enough to be partially healthy; God wants you to be totally healthy. It is not enough to be managing financially; God wants you to be financially recovered.
Mark 8:22 “When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him.” The Bible points out to us clearly that people brought the blind man to Jesus. And this is important because if they had not brought the blind man to Jesus, the blind man will never have experienced full recovery. We must never underestimate the power of invitation. Most Christians are in the faith today because someone invited them. The day I gave my lie to Jesus someone invited me to fellowship. Think about your salvation journey; it most likely started with an invitation. Even our journey to healing starts with someone inviting us to meet with God. An invitation can change a life for eternity.
God gives us the opportunity to bring people to Him every week. We must seize such opportunities. Some times the key to our recovery is in bringing other people to God. The question is who are those that are close to you but far from God? God wants you to invite them to meet with Him. If you read Mark 8:22 again, you will notice that these people did not just set up a meeting between the blind man and Jesus; they actually brought him to the meeting just like the paralytic. Sometimes we have to do that for people. What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.
Thought: Who do you need to bring to Jesus?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, as I extend Your transforming love to the people around me, let me experience full recovery also, in Jesus Name. Amen!
