The Power of Earning Influenceনমুনা
One of my favorite people in the Bible is the disciple Peter. Peter who was a fisherman and, through the Lord, became a fisher of men. Peter is one of the greatest stories of redemption found in the Bible. To put it mildly, Peter had some problems in his life. Peter was brash, impulsive, fearful, and at many times, Peter lacked faith. Yet still, Jesus saw something in Peter that no one else seemed to grasp. Peter was strong willed, and went from a nobody, to the apostle of apostles.
What I love about Peter is this drastic transformation, and his ability to use his story and his experiences with Jesus as a beacon of light to those who are lost. Peter’s influence during his time dramatically changed the church, and continues to change the lives of all who are lost and decide to pick up a Bible. In my opinion, Peter’s story of triumph and tribulation is one of the most important stories in the Bible. The influence that the Lord had on Peter changed the way Peter lived entirely. Peter himself is living proof of the power of having a positive influence on others. Before, and even while he was a disciple at first, Peter was lost.
Understand that in order to lead, you must first be found. I believe that just as Jesus chose Peter as a disciple to lead others to Him, God chooses us as Christians to lead those around us to Him.
In what ways can Peter’s past be used to influence others? In what ways can you apply this to your life?
