Will the Real You Step Up?
Have you ever said something to someone and then wished you could take those words back? Often we don’t think about what we’re going to say before we say it. But, once said, our words are out there forever – good or bad. Our words have power. God used words exclusively to create the earth. Scripture tells us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21) Our words have power to do well or to destroy; to build up or to tear down.
Today, you’ll use words to write a vision statement for your life, referencing materials from the past six days of devotionals or from your ID Book, if you have one. Your vision statement should be a short one or two sentence summation of your existence and it should remain consistent over time.
Then you’ll write a mission statement that will explain in measurable action items how you’re going to accomplish your vision. Plan to use action items that are consistent with your identity (Passions, Talents, Spiritual Gifts).
