So Be Itনমুনা
Oftentimes our prayers can have the feeling of one-way conversations, with us doing all of the talking. Maybe this leaves you feeling disappointed or feeling like praying is not worth the time. If prayer is supposed to be a conversation with God, how is it that we actually hear Him? Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 2 that the answer is through God’s Spirit that lives in us. When we admit our sins to God, believe that Jesus paid the penalty for those sins once and for all, and then choose to follow Jesus with our lives, God sends His Holy Spirit to live in us. This Spirit allows us to understand what is being said when God speaks to us. Prayer doesn’t need to be a one-way conversation any longer. Ask God to allow you to hear Him through His Spirit today.
Father, thank you for your Holy Spirit who lives in me. And thank you for desiring to talk with me. Help me to quiet myself so that I may listen closely through your Spirit for your words and your heart toward me, as well as for the answers to the questions I ask of you. I look forward to our conversation today and in the days yet to come. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen and So Be It.
